What we offer

As a graduate trainee with Boliden, you will gain valuable knowledge about the metals industry at one of Europe’s leading mining- and smelting companies. You will gain insight in how we operate, as well as get access to a skilled network of local and international colleagues. You will be offered a personal development program throughout the program period with a tutor and a mentor to support you in your development. The trainee period is divided into three different sections of approximately four months each. The program combines local internships at different locations with theoretical and practical training in our core areas, and features onsite practice, digital meetings, active learning, team activities, and physical meetings and workshops.

The Trainee Roadmap

The graduate trainee program is designed to give you a great start to your career as a young academic
professional. Work to increase self-awareness and improve communication skills,
self-leadership and motivation. Grow in your role with real business challenges and train
your ability to work in different settings and positions. Develop project management
skills such as planning, organizing, and seeing projects through from start to finish individually
and in teams. The program follows a roadmap with three practice periods: one at
homebase, one in another area, and one in a different role back at homebase. As a team,
you will work with different projects, and train in personal development

Stayed tune, take the chance and apply!

We at Boliden are just as curious about you as you hopefully are about us - we always ask for other perspectives and welcome new approaches from our employees. We want you to take a place in Boliden's trainee family, take advantage of the opportunities given, dare to question and even fail.
That's how we learn and develop - together!

Andrea Malo Gonzalez

Geologist, Boliden

"I applied because the opportunity for technical expertise here is unique. Boliden has positioned itself at the center of the latest mineral discoveries in Europe and is adapting new mining technologies and innovations at an incredible pace".

Andrew Aashish Koppoli

Process engineer, Harjavalta

"Boliden is a world pioneer in the mining and processing of metals that truly believes in its values and puts them into practice. I can't think of a better company to learn from and contribute to".

Iida Partanen

Process engineer, Kokkola

"Boliden's values and vision are something I want to be a part of and contribute to. The people are very talented and motivated, so it's an incredible work environment to be a part of".

Logos Guiang

Metallurgist, Kevitsa

"Working together with the other trainees during the meetings also makes the discussion more dynamic and hopefully we can come up with great ideas that I might not come across under normal circumstances".

Martin Ahlin

Buyer, Stockholm

"As we are eight trainees in different positions, it gives us the opportunity to network and help each other later in our careers. I look forward to working on a wide range of projects, learning from my colleagues and contributing to Boliden".

Miciel Wennström

HR, Aitik

“My mom drove those big trucks in Aitik which as a kid I always thought was very cool. That is probably a strong reason why I like Boliden so much, for the diversity in all jobs and that the company strives to gain from everyone´s differences and make it as diverse as possible in all departments".

Sauli Rytkönen

Process engineer, Garpenberg

"Boliden's values align with my own, and I believe they are crucial, especially in the mining and metals industry, where Boliden can lead by example in terms of environmental, social and governance practices".

Stefan Reisinger

Process engineer, Stockholm

"The mining industry fascinates me because the value of primary resources is underestimated in many aspects today, especially with electrification it is more important than ever. I am really looking forward to getting to know and supporting my colleagues in any way possible".
